A drug trafficking case has come to light in Mangaluru, where police arrested a 21-year-old woman for allegedly attempting to sell hydro weed ganja. During a special operation conducted on May 12 near Mulki Railway Station Road, police seized 1.042 kg of hydro weed ganja worth around Rs 35 lakh.

The accused was identified as Suhana, a native of Sagar taluk in Shivamogga district. She is currently pursuing her final-year BCA at a college in Kundapur. Police said she had allegedly brought the narcotic substance from Chennai to Mangaluru with the intention of selling it illegally.

Along with the ganja, police also seized a mobile phone and other materials used in the crime. A case has been registered against the accused under Sections 8(c) and 20(b) of the NDPS Act. Police further stated that she was previously linked to narcotics-related cases registered at Kavoor Police Station and by Bengaluru Airport Customs.
