Seven people were killed in two separate road accidents in Karnataka’s Kolar and Chikkaballapur districts on Monday. A 25-year-old woman was allegedly murdered inside her residence in Guwahati’s Basisthapur area, Assam. Police identified the victim as Riya Talukdar Goswami and said her husband, Ramanujan Goswami, is the prime suspect. He reportedly surrendered to police and confessed to the killing. An Air India Express Boeing 737 flying from Kochi to Abu Dhabi was forced to turn back after the crew detected a rapid drop in the oil quantity of one engine. The aircraft, operating as flight IX 415, was around 50 minutes into the journey and cruising at 36,000 feet when the pilots noticed the abnormal reading. As the oil level continued to fall and pressure entered the danger zone, the crew shut down Engine 1 and safely landed the aircraft at Cochin International Airport.
