The first accident occurred near Dodda Kari village in KGF taluk of Kolar district.
A car carrying eight people was reportedly returning to Bengaluru after the occupants visited Tirupati. The vehicle lost control, hit the median and overturned on the Chennai–Bengaluru Expressway.
Four people died at the scene. They were identified as Sharadamma, 70, Deekshita, 25, Devendra Kumar, 41, and Jishnu, 13, all residents of Vidyaranyapura in Bengaluru.
The other occupants were injured and taken to a government hospital in Bangarpet for treatment.
Police Begin Investigation
The accident falls under the jurisdiction of Bethamangala Police Station.
Police have registered a case and are investigating the circumstances that led to the vehicle losing control. The exact reason for the crash has not yet been officially established.
Three Women Killed in Chikkaballapur
In a separate accident in neighbouring Chikkaballapur district, three women agricultural workers died after an Omni collided with a mini goods vehicle near Kothanur Gate in Shidlaghatta taluk.
The Omni was carrying 10 daily-wage workers from Mallikarjunapura village who were travelling to Huzuguru for flower harvesting.
The collision was severe, and three women died at the spot. Other injured passengers were shifted to Shidlaghatta Taluk Hospital for medical treatment.
Case Registered
A case has been registered at Shidlaghatta Rural Police Station, and authorities are investigating the circumstances surrounding the collision.
The two accidents have once again highlighted the risks faced by passengers and agricultural workers travelling on busy roads and highways in the region.
With seven fatalities recorded in just two separate crashes, police investigations are now focused on determining how the accidents occurred and whether any road, vehicle or driving-related factors contributed to the tragedies.
