A major land deal involving nearly 50 IAS and IPS officers has sparked debate in Madhya Pradesh. According to a report, the officers jointly purchased around five acres of farmland in Guradi Ghat village near Bhopal in April 2022 through a single transaction. At the time, the land was valued at nearly Rs 5.5 crore.

However, within two years, the approval of a Rs 3,200-crore bypass project and subsequent land-use conversion reportedly pushed the land value to more than Rs 60 crore — an 11-fold increase. The details reportedly surfaced through Immovable Property Returns (IPR) filed by IAS officers in Madhya Pradesh.
