N. Rangasamy is set to be sworn in once again as the Chief Minister of Puducherry following a decisive victory in the Assembly elections. Known for his calm and soft-spoken nature, Rangasamy is all set to assume office for the fifth time.
The NDA alliance, led by the All India N.R. Congress (AINRC), secured the required majority to form the government. The AINRC won 10 seats, while the BJP secured 4 seats. Allies including AIADMK, LJP, and other NDA partners won one seat each.
In the 30-member Assembly, the alliance has secured a total of 18 seats, comfortably crossing the majority mark of 16 seats needed to form the government. With this clear mandate, Rangasamy is ready to take charge again.
Rangasamy, who was previously with the Congress party, quit in 2008 to establish the AINRC. Known for his simple and approachable personality, he has maintained a friendly alliance with the BJP and remains a key leader within the NDA coalition.
