Andhra Pradesh is set to strengthen its power infrastructure with APTRANSCO planning to commission 24 major transmission projects worth ₹3,507 crore between June and December 2026. Reviewing the progress at Vidyut Soudha in Vijayawada, Special Chief Secretary K. Vijayanand directed officials to accelerate execution and ensure timely completion. He stated that the government is committed to providing reliable and uninterrupted power supply to agriculture, industries, commercial establishments, and households.
APTRANSCO has already commissioned 3 substations of 400 kV, 8 of 220 kV, and 21 of 132 kV capacity, adding 1,465 MVA transformation capacity and 571 circuit kilometres of transmission lines. Currently, 68 projects worth ₹5,279 crore are under execution, while tenders have been floated for 29 more projects. These initiatives are expected to enhance grid stability, reduce transmission losses, and support Andhra Pradesh’s industrial and economic growth.
