With the Alluri Sitarama Raju International Airport at Bhogapuram set to begin commercial operations, authorities have finalized transport arrangements to ensure smooth connectivity between Visakhapatnam and the new airport. Public transport and taxi services are being introduced to offer passengers affordable and convenient travel options.
The APSRTC will operate air-conditioned electric buses connecting key locations in Visakhapatnam with Bhogapuram Airport. The fare has been fixed at ₹300 per passenger, making it an economical alternative for airport commuters. The buses are expected to run at regular intervals and connect major parts of the city with the airport.
Passengers preferring private transport can hire taxis, with fares expected to range between ₹800 and ₹1,500 based on factors such as pickup location, traffic conditions and the type of cab selected. This provides travelers with flexibility depending on their budget and convenience.
To improve last-mile connectivity, the Andhra Pradesh government and APSRTC have also introduced dedicated electric buses and supporting infrastructure. Passenger lounges and additional transport facilities have been planned to ensure seamless travel to and from the airport.
The new airport is expected to become a major gateway for North Andhra Pradesh, boosting tourism, trade and regional economic development. Enhanced road connectivity and dedicated public transport services are expected to make travel to the airport easier for passengers from Visakhapatnam and surrounding districts.
