A new Property Rights Centre has been established in Tirupati to provide legal support and guidance to landowners struggling with land registration issues arising from the incorrect inclusion of their properties under Andhra Pradesh's Section 22-A prohibited list.

The centre is intended to assist individuals whose private lands have been mistakenly classified as restricted, preventing them from selling, transferring, or registering their properties. Legal experts associated with the initiative said the office will offer legal consultation, document verification, and guidance on the procedures required to rectify such errors.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by legal professionals, former government officials, and social activists, who highlighted the growing number of complaints related to wrongful entries under the Section 22-A list. They noted that while the law was introduced to protect government, endowment, and waqf properties from unauthorized transactions, implementation errors have affected many legitimate landowners.

According to the organisers, the centre will help citizens verify the status of their survey numbers, prepare representations to the concerned authorities, and pursue legal remedies wherever necessary. It will also coordinate with government departments to facilitate the resolution of pending cases.

Apart from legal assistance, the Property Rights Centre plans to conduct awareness programmes to educate the public about land ownership rights, property documentation, and the legal process for correcting errors in land records.

The organisers encouraged affected landowners to approach the centre for professional assistance and timely resolution of property-related disputes.
