In a significant boost to India's defense capabilities, the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) successfully conducted the flight test of its indigenously developed Long-Range Land Attack Cruise Missile (LRLACM) on Monday.

The missile was launched from Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Island off the Odisha coast, marking another major achievement in India's journey toward self-reliance in advanced defense technologies.

According to DRDO, the missile successfully met all mission objectives during the test. Data collected by sophisticated tracking systems and sensors at the Integrated Test Range (ITR), Chandipur, confirmed that the missile performed precisely as planned and demonstrated its intended capabilities.

Developed entirely with indigenous technology, the missile incorporates several advanced subsystems designed and built by various DRDO laboratories in collaboration with Indian industry partners. The Aeronautical Development Establishment (ADE), Bengaluru, served as the lead laboratory for the prestigious project.

Defense experts say the successful test is a major step forward for India's strategic strike capabilities and reinforces the nation's commitment to the Aatmanirbhar Bharat initiative in the defense sector.
