The Guntur Municipal Corporation has launched an innovative campaign titled “Mission Mosquito” to tackle the growing mosquito problem in the city. As part of this initiative, AI-powered drones are being deployed to spray anti-larval chemicals across major water bodies and low-lying areas.

GMC Commissioner K. Mayur Ashok stated that the move comes in response to a surge in public complaints and rising concerns over seasonal diseases. The campaign aims to effectively control mosquito breeding and prevent the spread of dangerous illnesses such as malaria, dengue, and chikungunya.

Officials believe that using advanced drone technology will ensure better coverage and faster results compared to traditional methods. The initiative is part of a larger goal to make Guntur a malaria-free city and improve overall public health conditions.
