A low-pressure area over the northwest Bay of Bengal has intensified, bringing the possibility of increased rainfall across North Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Coastal Andhra Pradesh over the next two to three days, according to the India Meteorological Department.

Several parts of North Coastal Andhra experienced light to moderate rainfall on Saturday. Visakhapatnam city remained under cloudy skies with intermittent drizzle throughout the day.

Among the highest rainfall recorded, Ichchapuram in Srikakulam district received 5 centimeters, while Sompeta recorded 4 centimeters. Several locations, including Palasa, Mandasa, Bheemunipatnam, Bondapalle, Chintur, Kunavaram, Vara Ramachandrapuram, and Velairpad, recorded around 3 centimeters of rain.

The IMD has advised residents in coastal districts to stay alert as rainfall activity is expected to intensify over the coming days.
