A new controversy has emerged in France after journalist Florian Tardif made sensational claims in his book An (Almost) Perfect Couple.
The book alleges that French President Emmanuel Macron was slapped by his wife Brigitte Macron during a trip to Hanoi, Vietnam, after she allegedly saw a message on his phone from Iranian-French actress Golshifteh Farahani.
According to the author, the incident happened as the couple was preparing to disembark their aircraft, following Brigitte’s discovery of the message. The book claims Macron had previously sent Farahani a message describing her as “very pretty,” while maintaining a platonic relationship.
Both Brigitte Macron and Golshifteh Farahani have strongly denied the allegations, calling them false and unfounded.
