A shocking incident has taken place in West Bengal, where Chandranath Rath, the personal assistant (PA) of senior BJP leader Suvendu Adhikari, was shot dead by unidentified assailants.
The incident occurred in Madhyamgram area of North 24 Parganas district. According to reports, Chandranath Rath was traveling in a car when a group of attackers arrived on a बाइक and opened fire. He died on the spot due to bullet injuries.
Another Person, identified as Buddhadev, sustained serious injuries in the attack and is currently undergoing treatment.
The incident has triggered political tension in the state, especially as it comes just days after the announcement of Assembly election results. Notably, Suvendu Adhikari recently secured a victory over Mamata Banerjee from the Bhabanipur constituency. With Adhikari also being seen as a key contender in the state’s political landscape, the killing has raised suspicions of a possible political conspiracy.
Police have registered a case and launched an investigation into the matter. Further details are awaited.
