The spiritual drama Hanuman Ansh is preparing to return with another chapter. Following the film’s strong performance at the Indian box office, writer-director Vishal Chaturvedi has confirmed that the sequel is currently being developed.
The announcement came during an interaction between the filmmaker and audiences at a multiplex in Agra. Speaking about the future of the franchise, Chaturvedi revealed that the second instalment will move deeper into the life and spiritual journey of Neem Karoli Baba.
Unlike the first film, the sequel is expected to expand its geographical canvas. The story will reportedly begin around Firozabad, associated with Neem Karoli Baba’s birthplace, before moving through Agra, Mathura and other locations connected to his life.
A Trilogy Was Planned From the Beginning
The announcement of Hanuman Ansh 2 is not solely a result of the film’s recent success. The makers had already revealed when the project was announced in February 2026 that the story was planned as a trilogy.
The franchise is inspired by Vishal Chaturvedi’s book Divine Detour, which provides the broader narrative foundation for the cinematic adaptation.
Strong Response Changes the Film’s Trajectory
Released on August 7, Hanuman Ansh reportedly began its theatrical run on a modest note before gaining momentum through positive word of mouth. Multiple reports state that the film eventually crossed the ₹50 crore mark in India, making it one of the year's notable surprise successes.
Actor Shobhinaw Satyaa portrays Neem Karoli Baba in the film, with Chandan Anand, Purnima Tiwari and Vihaan Shedge also appearing in important roles.
With the first chapter leaving the saint’s larger story unfinished, Hanuman Ansh 2 is expected to continue the narrative while exploring more significant moments from his spiritual path.
