Released with limited expectations, ‘Hanuman Ansh’ has emerged as a surprise success at the box office. The spiritual film, based on the life and spiritual journey of Neem Karoli Baba, has crossed the Rs 150 crore mark in domestic gross collections, making it one of the biggest sleeper hits of 2026. According to the latest trade figures, the film had collected around Rs 155.65 crore gross and Rs 131.63 crore net in India by its 32nd day.
Directed by Vishal Chaturvedi, the spiritual drama features Shobhinav Satya in the lead role. Vihaan Shedge, Chandan K Anand, Purnima Tiwari, Anil Rastogi and Gulshan Pandey are among the other actors in the cast.
Made on a Rs 2 Crore Budget, Film Delivers Huge Returns
One of the biggest factors behind the success of ‘Hanuman Ansh’ is its modest production budget. Made for approximately Rs 2 crore, the film had a slow start and failed to make a major impact during its opening days. Released on August 7, it reportedly earned only around Rs 10 lakh on its first day.
Collections remained subdued during the first two weeks. However, positive audience feedback and strong word-of-mouth gradually helped the film gain momentum. From its third week onwards, its box-office performance improved significantly.
Strong Run Continues Into the Fifth Week
While most films typically witness a decline in collections as their theatrical run progresses, ‘Hanuman Ansh’ continued to attract audiences even in its fifth week.
The film reportedly collected Rs 10 crore net on its 29th day, Rs 16.50 crore on the 30th day and an impressive Rs 22.75 crore net on the 31st day. Together, the three days contributed Rs 49.25 crore to its net collections.
Slow Start Turns Into a Major Success
Without a major star cast or an extensive promotional campaign, ‘Hanuman Ansh’ has managed to bring audiences to theatres. The film’s portrayal of Neem Karoli Baba’s spiritual journey, along with themes of faith, compassion, service and devotion, appears to have connected with viewers.
For a film made on a budget of around Rs 2 crore to cross the Rs 150 crore gross mark is a remarkable achievement. The film has now established itself among the most profitable low-budget releases in recent times.
Overseas Release Set for September 11
Following its strong performance in India, ‘Hanuman Ansh’ is set to release in international markets on September 11. The overseas release could further boost the film’s worldwide box-office earnings.
What began as a film without major box-office expectations has now turned into a remarkable commercial success. With its strong word-of-mouth and sustained theatrical run, ‘Hanuman Ansh’ has emerged as one of the biggest surprise hits of 2026.
