CI Jairam, played by Bharath Srinivasan, shares a close bond with Adhi, portrayed by Charan Babu. When Adhi is found dead in a hostel, Jairam takes responsibility for investigating the case. The investigation takes an unexpected turn when Adhi's fingerprints are found to match those of two other people who have also died. More surprisingly, all three deaths occurred on the same day. The unusual discovery raises several questions. How can three deceased individuals have identical fingerprints? Are the deaths connected? Who is responsible, and what is the motive behind the killings? The series builds its central mystery around these questions and follows Jairam as he attempts to uncover the truth. What Works The opening premise is easily the strongest part of Panchanama. The fingerprint mystery creates immediate curiosity and gives the investigation an interesting starting point. The show also benefits from Bharath's serious screen presence. He fits the role of a police officer and maintains the required intensity through much of the series. The medical-crime backdrop adds another layer to the investigation, while the mystery surrounding the deaths gives the series enough material to potentially become an engaging thriller. What Doesn't Work Unfortunately, the screenplay struggles to maintain the curiosity generated by the opening episodes. As the investigation progresses, the pace becomes inconsistent and the suspense does not build strongly enough. Several developments that should have created tension instead feel predictable or stretched. The emotional component also fails to make a strong impact. Since the investigation becomes increasingly personal for Jairam, the character needed greater emotional depth to make the audience connect with his journey. The eventual revelation of the antagonist also lacks the impact expected from such an important moment. By that point, the narrative has already lost some of its momentum. Performances Bharath Srinivasan delivers a decent performance and suits the role of the investigating officer. However, his portrayal sometimes feels restrained, particularly during scenes that require stronger emotional variation. The supporting cast, including Shivaji Raja, Medha Reddy, Charan Babu and others, perform their respective roles adequately. However, the writing does not give most of the characters enough scope to leave a lasting impression. Technical Aspects Director Mohan Srivatsa has an interesting concept in hand but does not extract its full potential. The screenplay is the biggest weakness. A tighter investigation, sharper twists and stronger character development could have made the series much more engaging. Naresh Kumaran's background score works in parts but feels repetitive at times. The editing could also have been more precise to maintain momentum during the investigation. Sandeep Kanth N's cinematography is functional, while the overall production values are adequate for the series. Verdict Panchanama has a genuinely intriguing premise, particularly the mystery surrounding the identical fingerprints and multiple deaths. However, the series struggles to sustain that curiosity across its episodes. Bharath delivers a satisfactory performance, but the screenplay and execution prevent the thriller from reaching its potential.
