It has been many years since Telugu cinema’s beloved actress Soundarya passed away, but she continues to live in the hearts of fans through her memorable performances. Known for her natural acting style, she is often remembered as one of the most respected actresses after legendary star Savitri.
Soundarya worked with several top actors including Chiranjeevi, Balakrishna, Venkatesh, Nagarjuna, Mohan Babu, and Jagapathi Babu, delivering many successful films across Telugu cinema. She also acted in over 100 films across multiple languages, including Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam, and Hindi.
Her life came to a tragic end in 2004 when she died in a helicopter crash, a loss that deeply shocked the Indian film industry.
Among her final films, Shiva Shankar was one of her last appearances. However, her final major commercial success is considered to be Seetayya, directed by Y.V.S. Chowdary, where she starred alongside Nandamuri Harikrishna. The film also featured Simran in another lead role.
In a tragic coincidence, Harikrishna, who played the male lead in Seetayya, also passed away years later in a road accident on December 7, 2018, in Nalgonda district.
The fact that both the lead actors of the same successful film died in separate accidents has remained a heartbreaking and unforgettable coincidence for Telugu cinema fans.
