The Telugu Association of North America (TANA) is witnessing a record response for its annual Pickleball Tournament this year. With 65 teams already registered for the competition scheduled on June 6, excitement and enthusiasm are running high within the Telugu community.
The tournament will be held at the Carolina Pickleball Club in Kannapolis, North Carolina, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Compared to previous years, a significantly larger number of players are participating, with record-breaking women's participation emerging as one of the event's major highlights.
Organizers noted that pickleball, one of the fastest-growing sports in the United States, is rapidly gaining popularity among the Telugu community as well. Competitions will be conducted in Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced divisions, along with Women's Doubles and Mixed Doubles categories.
Tournament officials announced that cash prizes will be awarded to the winners. TANA representatives have encouraged community members, families, and sports enthusiasts to attend the event in large numbers and cheer on the participants.
"This is more than just a competition; it is a celebration that brings the Telugu community together on a single platform. We invite players, families, and supporters to make this event a grand success," the organizers said.
The tournament is being organized under the leadership of Dr. Naren Kodali, President of TANA; Lavu Srinivas, Executive Vice President; and Ravi (Nani) Vadlamudi, Appalachian Regional Representative. Organizers expressed confidence that the event will mark another significant milestone in the history of Telugu sporting activities in the region.
