Dallas Telugu Alai Balai Sangham (D-TABS)

Dallas Telugu Alai Balai Sangham (D-TABS) is a dynamic Telugu community organization serving the Dallas–Fort Worth region. The organization focuses on bringing Telugu families together through culture, community service, social support, youth involvement, and collaborative initiatives. Inspired by the traditional spirit of Alai Balai, which represents friendship, unity and cultural connection during the Dasara season, D-TABS provides a platform for Telugu families to celebrate their heritage while building stronger relationships within the community. The organization conducts cultural celebrations, health initiatives, immigration guidance programs and partnerships with other community organizations

D-TABS was established to celebrate and preserve Telugu identity in the North Texas community. Over the years, the organization has developed into a platform for cultural celebrations, community engagement and social support.

Its activities include major Telugu and Telangana celebrations such as Dasara, Sankranti and Bonalu. The organization has also participated in collaborative community events with other Telugu and Indian-American organizations in the Dallas–Fort Worth area. The organization has grown its community presence through large-scale cultural programs and volunteer-driven initiatives, helping Telugu families stay connected with their traditions while living in the United States.

D-TABS contributes to the Dallas–Fort Worth Telugu community through: Cultural Preservation: Promotes Telugu and Telangana traditions through Dasara, Sankranti, Bonalu and other cultural celebrations. Community Unity: Creates opportunities for Telugu families from different backgrounds and organizations to come together. Youth Engagement: Encourages younger generations to participate in cultural programs and understand their Telugu heritage. Social Support: Provides community-focused initiatives, including health programs and immigration-related guidance. Cultural Collaboration: Works with other organizations to create inclusive community events and strengthen connections across the wider Indian-American community. Public Cultural Events: Organizes large community celebrations that are open to families across the Dallas–Fort Worth region.
