Marvel Studios has begun the countdown to ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ with a new official podcast that takes fans back through some of the biggest films in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Titled ‘Countdown to Avengers: Doomsday Official Podcast’, the series revisits key films from the MCU's Infinity Saga and examines the characters, storylines and moments that could have relevance as Marvel moves towards its next major crossover event.

The podcast is hosted by Iman Vellani, best known for playing Kamala Khan in Marvel's ‘Ms. Marvel’, and Frank Alvarez, co-host of the comedy podcast ‘The Basement Yard’. Both hosts are known for their enthusiasm for Marvel, making them a natural fit for the rewatch series.

Five MCU Films to Be Revisited

The series will focus on five major films from the Infinity Saga.

The lineup begins with ‘The Avengers’, followed by ‘Avengers: Age of Ultron’, ‘Captain America: Civil War’, ‘Avengers: Infinity War’ and finally ‘Avengers: Endgame’.

Rather than simply summarising the films, Vellani and Alvarez revisit specific scenes, characters and major developments while discussing how those events shaped the Avengers and the wider MCU.

Premiere Episode Revisits ‘The Avengers’

The first episode, released on August 27, focuses on the 2012 film ‘The Avengers’, the movie that first brought several major Marvel superheroes together as a team.

The hosts revisit Loki's plans, the early tension between Tony Stark and Steve Rogers, the Battle of New York and the film's early connection to Thanos.

The episode also explores why the original Avengers team-up remains one of the defining moments of the MCU. The premiere runs for around 38 minutes and combines nostalgia with fan theories and speculation about the road to ‘Doomsday’.

New Episodes Every Week

The podcast will release a new episode every Thursday.

‘Avengers: Age of Ultron’ is scheduled for September 3, followed by ‘Captain America: Civil War’ on September 10, ‘Avengers: Infinity War’ on September 17 and ‘Avengers: Endgame’ on September 24.

The final episode will arrive just ahead of the September 25 theatrical re-release of ‘Avengers: Endgame – Encore’, giving fans another opportunity to revisit the film before the next Avengers movie arrives.

The podcast is also designed to connect the past with the future of the MCU.
