The Kerala government has unveiled a special healthcare package for Wayanad district, focusing on strengthening medical infrastructure and expanding access to advanced treatment facilities.

As part of the initiative, the government plans to establish a super-speciality hospital in the district to provide specialized medical services locally, reducing the need for patients to travel to other cities for advanced care.

The package also includes the upgradation of existing government hospitals in Wayanad, with improved infrastructure, additional medical equipment, and enhanced patient care facilities.

Authorities have stated that the plan will also address shortages in medical manpower by deploying more doctors, nurses, and healthcare workers to the region. Strengthening emergency and trauma care services is also a key component of the initiative.

Officials said the healthcare package aims to bridge long-standing gaps in the district’s health system, particularly in remote and rural areas where access to quality medical services has been a challenge.

The government expects the initiative to significantly improve healthcare delivery and ensure better medical outcomes for residents of Wayanad.
