An American couple has captured attention after leaving New York City and relocating to a small town in Italy, where they purchased a home for approximately ₹12.4 lakh (around €11,500). Their decision was driven by a desire for a less stressful lifestyle, lower living costs, and greater financial stability.

After spending years in New York, the couple realized that rising housing costs, childcare expenses, and the pressures of urban life were making it difficult to maintain the lifestyle they wanted. Their search for alternatives eventually led them to Italy's Abruzzo region, where affordable homes were available at a fraction of U.S. property prices.

They bought the property outright, renovated it, and settled into their new community. Without the burden of a mortgage, the family says they now enjoy greater financial freedom and a significantly lower monthly cost of living than they experienced in New York.

The couple has also created new income opportunities after relocating. Alongside remote work, they invested in another property and began renting it to travelers, turning their move into both a lifestyle change and a long-term financial strategy.

Their story reflects a growing trend of people exploring affordable destinations overseas in search of improved quality of life, lower expenses, and a healthier work-life balance.
