A political row has erupted in India after Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei criticized the India AI Impact Summit held in New Delhi. Speaking to Bloomberg, Amodei described the event as “extremely disorganized.” Congress leaders quickly seized on the remarks, accusing the government of focusing on image management rather than meaningful AI policy.

However, the BJP hit back, claiming that an edited video was being circulated and that Amodei had also clarified such situations are common at AI conferences worldwide. Meanwhile, Anthropic is facing another controversy after the Trump administration reportedly ordered restrictions on foreign access to its advanced AI models, Mythos 5 and Claude Fable 5, citing national security concerns. The move has sparked concern across the global AI industry.
