Tensions in the Middle East are rising once again.
US President Donald Trump is set to receive a crucial military briefing today from CENTCOM chief Brad Cooper regarding potential action against Iran.
According to Axios, the US Central Command has prepared plans for a “short and powerful” strike campaign targeting key Iranian infrastructure.
The report suggests that the briefing indicates Trump is seriously considering restarting major combat operations. The goal could be to break the deadlock in ongoing negotiations or deliver a decisive blow before ending the conflict.
Among the options under review are taking control of parts of the Strait of Hormuz to ensure global oil flow, which may even involve ground operations.
Another possibility includes a high-risk special forces mission aimed at securing Iran’s stockpile of highly enriched uranium.
