Heavy Russian Strikes Hit Kyiv
Russia launched a major aerial assault on Ukraine from Monday evening, using missiles and drones against several parts of the country.
The attacks marked the sixth consecutive day of Russian strikes on Kyiv. Zelenskyy said a significant number of jet-powered drones and ballistic missiles were used in the assault, with Kyiv, Odesa, Kherson, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, Kharkiv, Chernihiv, Zhytomyr, Sumy and Dnipro among the regions affected.

Railway Depot Strike Kills Seven
A strike on a railway depot in Kyiv killed seven people, according to Zelenskyy.
In Boryspil, a five-storey residential building was damaged and 50 people were evacuated. Four people were killed and 13 others injured in the city, while emergency teams continued rescue and recovery operations.
Odesa Faces Power Disruptions
Russian guided aerial bombs and drones also targeted Odesa and the surrounding region.
Thousands of families were left without electricity following the attacks, with authorities working to restore power. A border crossing with Romania and export infrastructure were also damaged, according to Zelenskyy.
Nearly 350 Emergency Workers Deployed
Around 350 emergency responders have been involved in rescue and recovery operations in Kyiv and the surrounding region, Zelenskyy said.
Emergency crews have been dealing with damaged buildings, fires and debris following the overnight strikes.
Zelenskyy Calls for Stronger Air Defences
Zelenskyy said the scale of civilian casualties was directly linked to Ukraineโs ability to defend itself against Russian missile and drone attacks.
He called for increased supplies of air-defence equipment and interceptor missiles, particularly systems capable of countering ballistic threats.
Strikes Follow Modi-Putin Meeting
The latest attacks came a day after Prime Minister Narendra Modi met Russian President Vladimir Putin on the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation summit.
During the meeting, Modi called for an end to the Ukraine conflict, saying that the war should end for the sake of humanity. The continuation of Russian strikes has added to the international focus on efforts to find a diplomatic solution.
