According to the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), the earthquake struck near Redwood Valley in Mendocino County, with the epicentre located about 11 kilometres north of Redwood Valley. The quake occurred at a depth of approximately 8.1 kilometres.
Residents across Northern California, including areas far from the epicentre, reported feeling the shaking. Emergency alert systems also sent notifications to people in parts of the region, including areas around the Bay Area.
Aftershocks Reported After Main Quake
