The television industry is mourning the loss of actress Sanchita Ugale, who reportedly died by suicide at the age of 22 in Maharashtra's Palghar district.
Sanchita gained recognition for her role as Diya in the popular TV show Kumkum Bhagya and also appeared in Wagle Ki Duniya and Dilwali Dulha Le Jayegi. Apart from television, she featured in films including Chhaava, starring Vicky Kaushal, and Silence 2: The Night Owl Bar Shootout.
The young actress had built a strong fan following on social media, with more than 1.4 lakh followers on Instagram. She had also appeared in advertisements for major brands such as Whisper, Parle-G and Cadbury.
Just a day before her death, Sanchita shared a video on Instagram in which she appeared cheerful while lip-syncing to the classic song Dafliwale Dafli Baja. The post has since gone viral, leaving fans shocked and saddened.
Reacting to the news, her Dilwali Dulha Le Jayegi co-star Richa Soni said she initially believed the reports were fake. "We worked closely together, and I knew her personally. I simply couldn't believe it," she said.
Sanchita's sudden death has left colleagues, fans and the entertainment industry grieving the loss of a young actress whose career was on the rise.
