Bengaluru Police have detained 31 Bangladeshi nationals suspected of staying illegally in the city.
They were identified and apprehended during special checks across 10 police station limits.
The detainees are being escorted by 20 police personnel from SMVT Bengaluru to Malda in West Bengal.
From Malda, the authorities are expected to initiate the process of deporting them to Bangladesh as per procedure.
Bengaluru Police have launched โOperation Muktaโ, focusing on suspected illegal immigrants.
Police said the operation is still underway.
