The Directorate General of Civil Aviation, or DGCA, has launched an investigation after three Air India aircraft were damaged at Delhiโs Indira Gandhi International Airport. The incident took place on Sunday at Terminal-2 during adverse weather conditions.
According to officials, strong winds caused ground support equipment and foreign object debris to shift from nearby parking stands and strike the parked Air India A320 aircraft. Two aircraft suffered damage at different points, while the sliding window on the right side of another aircraft was also damaged.
The equipment involved reportedly belonged to Air India Engineering Services Limited and IndiGo. All three aircraft have been grounded for detailed inspection and maintenance. The DGCA is now investigating the circumstances that led to the incident.
