Union Minister Piyush Goyal once again made key remarks on the rise in petrol prices. He said the Centre is undertaking major reforms in the Commerce Ministry to improve transparency and speed in governance. Bringing 46 departments currently functioning from different locations under one roof will help reduce government expenditure and improve coordination between departments, he stated. This will also help businesses get approvals faster.
Goyal said the government led by Narendra Modi protected citizens from the burden of rising global crude oil and fertilizer prices. He added that India is moving ahead strongly in the export sector despite global economic challenges. The minister also said significant progress has been made in the India-US trade agreement, which is expected to create more opportunities for Indian products in the American market.
