Ahead of the new academic year, the Kozhikode District Suchitwa Mission, in association with the district administration, has launched a unique campaign titled “Reuse Heroes: The Real Heroes” to promote the culture of reuse among students.

The initiative aims to encourage children to reuse old school bags, umbrellas, shoes, and uniforms instead of buying new ones every year. Officials say the campaign is focused on reducing waste, conserving natural resources, and changing the mindset that using brand-new items is a matter of pride.

As part of the campaign, students who come to school using reused items will receive an “A Positive” certificate after uploading photos with the reused materials. Students who pledge to support and follow the reuse culture in the future will be awarded a “B Positive” certificate. All certificates will be issued online.

Special district-level awards will also be presented to schools with the highest participation, along with teachers and students who conduct outstanding awareness activities. Those interested in joining the campaign can register through the Suchitwa Mission Kozhikode Portal.
