A special programme was held at the New Government General Hospital in Vijayawada on the occasion of International Nurses Day. Speaking at the event, MP Sivanath praised Florence Nightingale for bringing dignity and honour to the nursing profession. He said nurses played a major role in achieving over 80 percent patient satisfaction at GGH. He also assured that issues related to the hospital, nursing college, and hostel facilities had been brought to the government’s notice and would soon be resolved. MLA Gadde Ramamohan Rao said Florence Nightingale’s service continues to inspire the nursing profession even today. NTR District Collector Lakshmisha stated that the heavy outpatient attendance at GGH reflected the quality of medical services being provided. During the celebrations, 35 individuals were honoured for their outstanding service.
