The Embassy of India in Washington, D.C., in coordination with the DC Indian Spouses’ Association, has announced a special Painting Competition and Storytelling Session for children of the Indian diaspora. The event will be held on Saturday, August 8, 2026, at the Embassy of India in Washington, D.C.
Children aged 6 to 16 years are eligible to participate in the painting competition, followed by a storytelling session by renowned storyteller Ms. Shilpa Das Gupta. The painting competition will take place from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM, while the storytelling session is scheduled from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM.
The organizers will provide all art materials, and participants are not permitted to use digital devices during the competition. Winners will be honored by the Ambassador of India to the United States during the Embassy's India Independence Day celebrations on August 15, 2026, at India House.
The Embassy has invited parents to register their children at the earliest, as slots are limited. The last date for registration is July 31, 2026.
