The annual 5K Walk organized by the Sankara Nethralaya Detroit Chapter in Michigan was successfully conducted with enthusiastic participation from community members, families, children, volunteers and sponsors.

The event aimed to raise awareness about eye health and vision care while supporting Sankara Nethralaya’s efforts to provide quality eye-care services to people in need.

More than just a walk, the event served as a platform to highlight Sankara Nethralaya’s mission, community service initiatives and social responsibility among the Indian-American community. The enthusiastic participation and generous support reflected the community’s commitment to making a positive difference in the lives of others.

The success of the event was made possible by the dedicated efforts of the Detroit Chapter team, including Prathima Kodali, Ramana Mudiganti, Vijay Perumalla, Ravi Kavutharapu, Venkat Gotoor and Tripura Sundari Bhagavathula. Families, children and community members participated enthusiastically throughout the event, creating a vibrant and positive atmosphere. Medals were presented to the winners, while volunteers and sponsors who contributed to the success of the event were also recognized.

The 5K Walk also helped create awareness about Sankara Nethralaya’s free and service-oriented eye-care initiatives. Organizers emphasized that every contribution—whether through participation, volunteering, sponsorship or donations—can help bring better vision and renewed hope to someone in need.

The Detroit Chapter expressed its heartfelt gratitude to all participants, volunteers, sponsors, supporters and well-wishers for their continued support.

The guidance and encouragement provided by President Bala Reddy Indurthi and the leadership team played an important role in making the event a success.
