The Telangana Association of Florida (TGFL) celebrated the Bonalu festival with great grandeur in Tampa Bay, Florida. More than 2,100 members of the Telugu and Telangana community from across the Tampa Bay area attended the celebrations, making the event a vibrant showcase of Telangana culture and traditions.
The celebrations recreated the spirit of the traditional Bonalu festivities observed in Telangana, featuring customary rituals, devotional offerings, and cultural programs. The event showcased the rich heritage, traditions, folk arts, music, and cultural identity of Telangana.
Several enthusiastic cultural performances added color and energy to the celebrations, with children, youth, and community members actively participating. The event provided an opportunity for families to come together and celebrate their cultural roots while passing traditional values on to the younger generation.
Speaking on the occasion, TGFL Chairman Chandu Talla appreciated the Telangana community's efforts to preserve and promote its cultural identity abroad. He emphasized that celebrating traditional festivals with families plays an important role in introducing younger generations to Telangana's customs and heritage.
He also noted that the celebrations reflected the multicultural and inclusive values of the Tampa Bay community, bringing people together through culture and tradition.
TGFL President Venkat Kancherla highlighted the importance of unity and harmony among diverse communities. He said that cultural celebrations such as Bonalu help strengthen community bonds while keeping Telangana traditions alive in the United States.
