A tragic road accident in New York has claimed the life of Atluri Prasanna (25), a Telugu student from Andhra Pradesh who had traveled to the United States for higher education.
Prasanna, a native of Mulapadu village in Ibrahimpatnam Mandal of NTR District, was traveling with friends to a nearby temple on July 5 during the weekend when their vehicle was involved in a serious collision at an intersection.
According to the New York State Police, the vehicle carrying Prasanna allegedly entered the intersection without stopping at a traffic signal and was struck by another vehicle that had the green light. Prasanna and another young woman died in the crash, while two other occupants sustained serious injuries and were hospitalized.
Police have launched an investigation into the incident. The untimely death of the young Telugu student has left her family, friends, and the Indian community in deep mourning.
