Kavi Media, a U.S.-based startup focused on Telugu-language audio entertainment, announced plans to raise $150,000 in a pre-seed funding round. The company said $53,000 has already been committed through a Y Combinator SAFE agreement. Founded by CEO Srihith Pallamreddy, Kavi aims to build a dedicated platform for Telugu podcasts, audiobooks and original audio stories for Telugu-speaking audiences worldwide, especially in the United States.
Pallamreddy said the startup was created to fill the gap in the regional audio market, where Telugu creators and listeners lack a centralized platform. The company plans to use the funds to expand original content, strengthen creator partnerships, improve technology infrastructure and boost marketing and user growth as it prepares for launch.
