Indian immigrants have emerged as the leading force behind America's billion-dollar startup ecosystem. According to a new study by the National Foundation for American Policy, Indian-born entrepreneurs have founded 96 U.S. unicorn companies, the highest number among all countries. Israel ranks second with 60 unicorns, followed by the United Kingdom with 47 and China with 41.

The report highlights the remarkable impact of the Indian diaspora, noting that among roughly five million Indian immigrants in the U.S., about one in every 50,000 has gone on to found a billion-dollar company. The wealthiest Indian immigrant unicorn founder is Jay Chaudhry, founder and CEO of Zscaler, with a net worth of $13.1 billion. The findings underscore India's dominant role in shaping America's innovation and startup economy.
