Indian-American author and wellness leader Ishan Shivanand has won the Gold Award at the prestigious 2026 Nautilus Book Awards for his memoir, The Practice of Immortality.
Shivanand received the top honor in the Spirituality of Eastern Thought category. Now in its 26th year, the Nautilus Book Awards recognize books that promote conscious living, personal growth, and positive social change.
The award comes at a time when rapid advances in artificial intelligence are reshaping workplaces and creating new challenges for leaders worldwide. Shivanand emphasized the importance of staying grounded, maintaining clarity, and leading with integrity amid unprecedented change.
His organization, Yoga of Immortals, has been studied by researchers from the University of Cincinnati, University of Kentucky College of Medicine, and Rutgers University. Studies reported significant reductions in anxiety, depression, and insomnia among participants.
Published in May 2025, The Practice of Immortality is available in 15 countries and seven languages. The Nautilus honor follows Shivanand’s Literary Titan Gold Book Award in 2025, marking his second major international literary recognition within a year.
