Krish Korrapati, representing North Carolina, has been elected Vice President of the American Legion Boys Nation, one of the nation's most elite youth leadership and civic education programs held annually in Washington, D.C.
The American Legion Boys Nation is regarded as a premier leadership academy for high school seniors in the United States. Only 100 outstanding students from 49 states and the District of Columbia are selected after first excelling in their respective Boys State programs. The participants spend a week simulating the U.S. Senate, debating legislation, drafting bills, and demonstrating leadership, public speaking, and policymaking skills.
Competing alongside the nation's brightest young leaders, Krish Korrapati impressed fellow delegates with his leadership, vision, and communication skills, earning their confidence and securing election as Vice President of Boys Nation. Sawyer Ray of Arkansas was elected President, and together they will lead the prestigious youth leadership body.
Krish's achievement is particularly significant for the Telugu community. His family traces its roots to Pallapadu village in Guntur district, Andhra Pradesh. He is the son of Dr. Vineeth Korrapati and Smitha Korrapati, and the grandson of Dr. Madhu Korrapati and Sirisha.
