The applicant, who has visited 45 countries and previously held multiple Schengen and UK visas, applied at the U.S. Consulate in Istanbul to attend FIFA matches and travel in the United States. During the interview, he discussed his past FIFA experience in Russia and shared details about his business and investments.
Although the conversation appeared friendly and the visa officer seemed impressed by his travel record, the application was ultimately refused after additional review. The applicant said he was surprised because he had provided proof of financial stability, business ownership, property, and family ties.
