Fatima Sana rewrote the record books with a sensational batting performance in the third Women’s T20I against Zimbabwe in Karachi. The Pakistan captain smashed the fastest fifty in Women’s T20 International history, reaching her half-century in just 15 balls.
The previous record of 18 balls was jointly held by Sophie Devine, Phoebe Litchfield and Richa Ghosh. Sana also equalled the overall fastest fifty record in women’s T20 cricket.
Coming to bat in the 17th over with Pakistan already in a strong position, Sana launched a brutal attack on Zimbabwe’s bowlers. She hammered boundaries all around the ground and raced to 48 runs in just 14 balls before completing her historic fifty with a calm two-run shot.
The 24-year-old remained unbeaten on 62 runs from only 19 deliveries, smashing 10 fours and 2 sixes. Her explosive innings powered Pakistan to 223 for 4, their second-highest total in Women’s T20Is.
Sana has been in stunning form in 2026, scoring 229 runs in five innings at a strike rate above 206, making her one of the most dangerous batters in women’s T20 cricket this year.
