Apple has significantly expanded its partnership with semiconductor company Broadcom through a new agreement valued at more than $30 billion. The long-term deal is expected to strengthen domestic chip manufacturing while supporting Apple's broader strategy of increasing investments in the United States.
The agreement extends through 2031 and focuses on producing advanced wireless connectivity components and custom silicon used across future generations of Apple devices.
Colorado Facility to Receive $1.5 Billion Expansion
As part of the partnership, Broadcom will invest approximately $1.5 billion to expand and modernize its manufacturing facility in Fort Collins, Colorado. The upgraded plant is expected to manufacture more than 15 billion chips for Apple over the duration of the agreement while supporting hundreds of skilled manufacturing jobs in the U.S.
Focus on Advanced Wireless Technologies
The chips produced under the agreement will include advanced radio-frequency components and custom application-specific integrated circuits (ASICs) used in Apple's ecosystem. These components are essential for technologies such as 5G connectivity, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and other wireless communication features found in iPhones, iPads, Macs, and future Apple products.

The Broadcom agreement forms a key part of Apple's previously announced commitment to invest $600 billion in the United States over four years. The company says the initiative is designed to strengthen domestic manufacturing, encourage innovation, create high-skilled jobs, and build a more resilient semiconductor supply chain.
