OpenAI has launched a new set of personal finance tools in preview for ChatGPT Pro users in the U.S. The feature allows users to connect bank accounts, credit cards, and investment portfolios directly to ChatGPT for spending analysis and financial planning.
OpenAI partnered with financial connectivity platform Plaid to enable secure account linking. The tool currently supports over 12,000 financial institutions including Schwab, Fidelity, Chase, Robinhood, American Express, and Capital One. Once connected, users can view portfolio performance, subscriptions, upcoming payments, and overall spending insights through a dashboard inside ChatGPT.
Users can access the feature through the “Finances” option in the sidebar or by typing “@Finances, connect my accounts.” OpenAI also announced plans to add Intuit support soon for advanced financial analysis features.
