Social media platform X has unveiled Live Studio, a new livestreaming command center designed to make it easier for creators to go live. Alongside the launch, the company announced a $1 million creator payout program to encourage more livestreaming on the platform.
According to X's Head of Product, Nikita Bier, the $1 million will be distributed to livestream creators during an upcoming payout cycle, with more details to be announced soon.
Live Studio allows creators to set stream titles, upload thumbnails, schedule broadcasts in advance, and control who can watch. Streams can be limited to verified users, subscribers, followers, or made available to everyone. The platform also provides real-time analytics, including viewer counts, locations, devices, and live chat management.
Currently, livestreaming on X is available only to X Premium subscribers, who pay $3 per month. Live Studio replaces the platform's previous Media Studio Producer.
The feature is rolling out in select U.S. states and major cities worldwide, including Mumbai, Sydney, Seoul, Singapore, Paris, Frankfurt, Dublin, São Paulo, and Tokyo. X hopes the new tools will strengthen its livestreaming capabilities after previous high-profile technical issues during major live events.
