An AIMIM worker was stabbed to death in Hyderabad’s Vattepally area on Sunday night after a group of attackers allegedly surrounded him near his residence.
The victim, identified as Mahboob Ali, sustained severe stab injuries and later died while undergoing treatment at a hospital.
Attack Near His Home
According to police, Mahboob Ali had gone to Almas Hotel at around 10 pm to buy food.
While returning home, he stopped around 100 metres from his residence and spoke to an acquaintance. A group of men then arrived on two motorcycles and allegedly launched a sudden attack.
Multiple Stab Injuries
The attackers allegedly stabbed Ali several times before fleeing the scene.
He suffered heavy bleeding and was rushed to a nearby hospital by local residents. Despite treatment, he died at around 10.45 pm, according to reports.
Five to Six Attackers Suspected
Police suspect that five to six people were involved in the attack.
Preliminary investigation has indicated a possible connection to a relative of the deceased, although officials have not yet established the exact motive behind the killing.
Special Police Teams Formed
The attackers fled immediately after the assault.
Police have formed special teams to track down the suspects. Investigators are examining CCTV footage from the area and collecting information from eyewitnesses to establish the sequence of events and identify those involved.
Murder Case Registered
A murder case was registered at Falaknuma Police Station based on a complaint filed by Ali’s son.

AIMIM Leaders Visit Family
AIMIM leaders visited Mahboob Ali’s family following the killing.
Bahadurpura MLA Mohammed Mubeen expressed condolences and later visited Falaknuma Police Station, where he urged police to take immediate and strict action against those responsible.
Call for Stronger Patrolling
Mubeen also called on the Telangana government and Hyderabad Police to strengthen patrolling in the area.
He urged authorities to take stricter action against anti-social activities, drug-related problems and violent crime.
Political Motive Not Established
Although Mahboob Ali was an AIMIM worker, police have not established any link between his political activities and the murder.
Investigators are looking into possible personal, family-related and other motives before reaching a conclusion.
