Telangana is set to witness a major transformation in government education with the launch of its first Telangana Public School (TPS) on Wednesday. Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy will inaugurate the school campus at Arutla.
Designed to provide education from Nursery to Intermediate on a single campus, the school features modern classrooms, science laboratories, a library, sports facilities, and other state-of-the-art infrastructure. Students will also receive free transportation, breakfast, lunch, and evening snacks.
The Telangana Public School initiative aims to offer high-quality English-medium education and compete with private educational institutions. Officials describe it as a key education reform that could strengthen public confidence in government schools.
The pilot project has received an overwhelming response from parents, with enrollment crossing 1,800 students, prompting the school to put up a “No Admission” board. The Telangana government plans to establish 100 such public schools across the state in a phased manner.
