Hyderabad has added another international milestone to its growing global profile. As part of the United States’ 250th Independence Day celebrations, a road near the U.S. Consulate in Gachibowli has been officially named “Donald Trump Avenue.”
The commemorative plaque was unveiled jointly by U.S. Ambassador to India Sergio Gor and Telangana Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka during a grand gala reception attended by diplomats, government officials, and leaders from the business, aerospace, defense, and technology sectors.
Speaking at the event, Ambassador Gor said Hyderabad has become a key hub for India-U.S. strategic cooperation, highlighting the city’s growing role in technology, aerospace, and defense. He added that “America First” does not mean America stands alone, but rather that it seeks strong and respectful partnerships around the world.
Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka congratulated the American people on 250 years of independence and said Hyderabad serves as one of the strongest bridges connecting India and the United States.
U.S. Consul General Laura Williams also praised the region’s innovation ecosystem, noting that advancements in aerospace, defense, artificial intelligence, and biopharma are helping shape the future of the global economy.
The naming of Donald Trump Avenue marks another symbol of the deepening partnership between India and the United States, with Hyderabad at its center.
