Major Allocation for Pushkaralu

The Godavari Pushkaralu are scheduled to be held from June 26 to July 7, 2027. With a large number of devotees expected to visit the Godavari riverbanks, the Telangana government has begun preparations well in advance.

The State Cabinet has approved an allocation of ₹1,000 crore for works related to the Pushkaralu. An initial amount of ₹300 crore has also been approved for the first phase of the works.

Ghats to Be Developed at 67 Locations

The government has planned the development of bathing ghats and other facilities at 67 locations along the Godavari river. The arrangements are being planned according to the expected pilgrim rush at different locations.

Facilities such as drinking water, electricity, sanitation, toilets, medical services and security will be strengthened at important pilgrimage centres.

Focus on Roads and Connectivity

Improving road connectivity is another major priority ahead of the Pushkaralu. Officials have been asked to address connectivity gaps and use local funds wherever necessary to ensure smooth movement of devotees.

Special officers are also expected to be deployed at locations likely to witness heavy crowds. Command and control centres will be established at important locations to coordinate arrangements and respond quickly to emergencies.

Monitoring of Works

The government has stressed the need for close coordination between different departments involved in the preparations. A dedicated dashboard is planned to track the progress of works.

Officials have been instructed to complete the tendering process within the stipulated timeline and begin the major works in September. Authorities have also been told not to compromise on the quality of construction and infrastructure.

Better Facilities for Devotees

The government is planning a coordinated approach involving district administrations, police officials, local representatives and voluntary organisations. The objective is to ensure that devotees have access to essential services throughout the festival.

Sanitation, healthcare, transportation and security will receive particular attention because of the large crowds expected during the Pushkaralu.

Conclusion

With an allocation of ₹1,000 crore, Telangana is preparing for the 2027 Godavari Pushkaralu on a large scale. The government aims to complete the required infrastructure and public amenities before the festival begins and provide devotees with safe and convenient facilities.
