Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu surprised locals in Kuppam on Wednesday by suddenly stopping his convoy to enjoy fresh roadside “tati munjalu” along with his wife Bhuvaneswari. The couple interacted warmly with the vendors while relishing the seasonal palm fruit, attracting crowds of people who recorded the moment on their mobile phones.
Known for its cooling properties and natural sweetness, tati munjalu remains a popular traditional summer delicacy in rural areas. Sharing the experience on social media platform X, Naidu praised the purity of the fruit, saying it contains “no adulteration, no carbide, and no pesticide contamination.” He described the fruit as pure-hearted as the people of Kuppam. Before leaving for his scheduled programmes, the Chief Minister paid the vendor for the fruit. The videos and photos of the interaction have now gone viral on social media.
